WOLFpak at Legion Sports Fest

Starting on Friday 22 October 2021 until Sunday October 24, sports fans from around the world will be attending Legion Sports Festival taking place in Reno, Nevada. It’s actually the largest International Federation of BodyBuilding and Fitness (IFBB) and fitness expo event in the world. So if you’re a fitness fanatic - mark it in your calendars and get yourself there!

WOLFpak are proud sponsors of the event. We’ll have a booth set up so we can get involved in all the action and share some of our best selling fitness backpacks with the world of fitness. If you’re debating going, this post is for you. We’re going to take a deep dive into what Legion Sports Fest is, what you can do and see there, and why you need to make it part of your weekend plans!

What is Legion Sports Fest?

Legion Sports Fest is a multi-sport fitness expo that includes nine sports and 2,500 athletes showcasing their skills. Here’s what sports are on offer and a little bit about each of them.

  1. Bodybuilding

As bodybuilding is the original sport offered at the Legion Sports Fest, it gets the most attention and has the most to offer athletes. Here’s what you can get stuck into at the weekend:

  • 2021 IFBB Pro Open

The IFBB is the world’s leading federation of bodybuilding. This sport at Legion will offer different categories for participants including, IFBB Pro Open Bodybuilding, Bikini, Classic Physique, Fitness, Men’s Physique, and Women’s Physique.

The Open divisions are 2022 Olympia Tier 3 qualifiers. This will mean each athlete placing first in an open division will be qualified for the Mr. Olympia contest in 2022. As a Tier 3 points qualifier, more points are awarded for 2nd – 5th than most shows. That’s huge if you’re trying to live out your dream at Mr. Olympia. Another event proudly sponsored by WOLFpak. Click here to read more about it and our involvement.

  • IFBB Pro Masters Legion

The Masters Championship will include all of the divisions and all classes! These are:  Bodybuilding, Bodybuilding 212, Figure, Men’s Physique, Fitness, Women’s Physique, Bikini, Classic Physique, Wellness.

This array of choices will give you options to get involved where you see fit. What’s more, you can now crossover divisions! That means if you’re a Women’s Physique Competitor who thinks you’ll fare well in the Wellness category, give it a shot - you’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain. In fact, you’ve got a $20,250 cash purse up for grabs!

  • NPC Bodybuilding

NPC is the National Physique Committee in bodybuilding. It’s the premier amateur physique organization in the world. So if it’s your first time on the stage, this division is for you. This event is also a NPC national qualifier which means that if you score top of your class, you’re moving out of the amateur phase and into getting your long awaited Pro card.

  1. Strongman

Brought to you by the American Iron Sports Foundation, the Strongman competition is one of the most entertaining to watch. You’ll be shocked when men your size start to do log cleans for reps with ease. Happening on the 23 to the 24 October, top Strongmen and women will battle for the title of the Legion Sports Fest’s Strongest. Click here to check out the events they’ll be doing.

  1. Muay Thai

Muay Thai is a type of martial arts, and is newer to the Legion Sports Fest line up than some of the other sports. The competition that is offered is the First Annual IKF United States Point Muay Thai Championship, offering championship belts in each experienced weight class. Select weight bracket winners receive a free trip to Thailand to train for a match!

  1. USA Weightlifting

If you’re strong and have solid form, perhaps you’d be interested in the USA Weightlifting category. The events on offer are full weightlifting or single lift weightlifting for snatch and clean and jerk.

  1. USA Armwrestling

Want to win $1,000? Are you known for your arm wrestling capabilities? Join the USA Armwrestling division for your chance to win the title. Including both men and women, anyone can enter the day of the event - what have you got to lose?

  1. Armored Combat

This is definitely the most unique offering at the 2021 Legion Sports Fest. Fully armored battles, axes, swords. Seriously! These are the categories you can enter:

  • 10 vs 10 Melee
  • 5 vs 5 Melee
  • IMCF Duels
  • Knight Fights
  • Melee
  • Public Event
  • Tournament
  • Women’s Fighting

Check it out!

  1. Powerlifting

Over the weekend there are two powerlifting meets - UPA Full Powerlifting Meet, which is a national qualifier and a Full Meet. This isn’t one for beginners, but is a great one to see! Check it out if you’re interested.

  1. Functional Fitness

This is the First Annual Stimulus Unknown Functional Fitness Competition. Stimulus Unknown will be a 2-day competition taking place on Saturday and Sunday.

These are the teams:

  • Solo Standard
  • Solo Scaled
  • Team Standard
  • Team Scaled

Some of the events you can see include: bar muscle-ups, handstand walks, toes to bar, kipping pull-ups, double-unders, squat clean and jerks and so much more! Come check it out!

  1. Rolling Thunder Challenge

Anyone can get involved to test out your strength and grip strength! Even if you’re not keen on getting involved, come down and watch it for some prize entertainment.

WOLFpak at the Legion Sports Fest 2021

This year WOLFpak will be at booth #604 waiting to meet our customers and new friends from around the nation and beyond. We have athlete opportunities, with Shaun Clarida and Yarishna Ayala both making appearances for meet and greets, and to answer any questions you might have about their training.

Want to learn more about Shaun Clarida and Yarishna Ayala?

Yarishna Alyala is the first female bodybuilder sponsored by WOLFpak for good reason. She is another IFBB Pro Bodybuilder, this time in the Wellness division. Check out our full profile on her to read more about her background. Before entering her first competition in 2013, Yarishna participated in an American reality TV show, “Q’Viva! The Chosen” in 2012, as a professional dancer.

Shaun Clarida is another IFBB Pro Bodybuilder who has amassed a following of nearly 400,000 fitness fans on his social media for his well-developed and motivating physique. Standing at just 5′ 2″, Shaun Clarida is competing in the 212 division. He previously won the 212 pound Olympia in Orlando, FL, in December 2020.

A little breaking news: Shaun will be competing at the Men’s Open for the first time at the Legion Sports Fest 2021. This has never been done as he traditionally competes in the Men’s 212 division. If you want to see how he does when he crosses over, it’s time to come down and see him in action!

Aside from meeting the athletes and the founder of WOLFpak, the booth will be an opportunity to see our best selling gym backpacks in person - to see what size and design is best for your fitness needs. We’ll also have on offer our Meal Management backpacks, which have fast become a fan favorite for meal preppers!

We can’t wait to meet you and join the PAK!
